In The Game: Brawl Tournament Rules:
Guitar Hero 2 Tournament
This tournament will take place on a Sony Playstation 2, and is Single Elimination with Seeding. Seeding will be determined by a qualifying round.
GH2: Qualifying Round
Coordinator:

Scheduled time to begin:
6:00pm
A qualifying round will be run for the Guitar Hero 2 Tournament based on score.
The potential songs to be used for the qualifying round are the songs listed under the category “Thrash and Burn”. These songs are:
“Cherry Pie” – Warrant [Hard]
“Who Was in My Room Last Night?” – Butthole Surfers [Hard]
“Girlfriend” – Matthew Sweet [Hard]
“Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” – The Rolling Stones [Hard]
“Sweet Child O’Mine” – Guns N’ Roses [Hard]
Before qualifying takes place, the qualifying song will be chosen at random for participants to play. Participants will go up, 2 at a time, to play the qualifying song one time. With the score acquired, they will be placed in their designated division and seeded accordingly on a bracket.
The Top 32 scores will be entered into the Extreme Tech competition for their specified competition. The following 32 players (#33 - #64) will be entered into the Regular Tech.
If there are not 64 participants in the Tech competitions, the top 2/3 (two-thirds) will be placed in Extreme Tech. The remaining 1/3 (one-third) will be in Regular Tech.
If there are 48-64 participants, Extreme Tech will have a maximum of 32 participants.
All other players will be out of the tournament.
A qualifying round for the DDR tournament will not take place.
GH2: Extreme Tech Competition (Maximum of 32 participants)

At the door: $10
Scheduled time to begin:
7:30pm
IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST be present in at 6pm to qualify for the Tech rounds to compete.
Information:
The Extreme Tech competition is a single elimination tournament using Guitar Hero II on a Sony Playstation 2.
For each match, the lower seed will pick the 1st song. The higher seed will pick the 2nd song. Both scores will be added together and the player with the highest score moves on to the next round.
Song difficulty will begin on the Hard level for the opening round of play, and as the tournament proceeds, the difficulty will increase to Expert for the Semi-finals through the Finals.
Players are welcome to bring in their own controllers for use. However, the controller must be subject to approval by the Coordinator before it can be used.
Song choice:
You are not allowed to choose a song more than once throughout the competition. You are not allowed to choose the same song your opponent chose previously during a match.
During play:
1. You are NOT allowed to make verbal noises to distract your opponent.
2. You are NOT allowed to look/stare at your opponent.
3. If you FAIL the song or stop playing the song for 5 seconds (whichever comes first), your opponent wins the song.

Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Tournament (maximum 32 participants)

Scheduled time to begin:
7:30pm
This is a single elimination tournament using Dance Dance Revolution: Supernova on a Sony Playstation 2 console, under the mode “All Music”. If time allows, the tournament may become a double elimination tournament.
Competitors who sign up will be placed randomly in a bracket. The first round will begin on Standard mode. Subsequent rounds leading up to the final round will be played on Expert or Challenge.
Play Rules:
Choice of the side of the pad is determined by coin flip. The loser of the coin flip is to pick the first song. The winner of the coin flip is to pick the second song. The first player to win two songs will move on to the next round. If each player wins one song, a third song will be chosen by Random.
The winner of each round will move onto to next round. The loser will be placed in a Losers’ Bracket which would be used if and only if time allows for the tournament to become a double elimination tournament. In the event it becomes a double elimination tournament, if a player loses twice, the player is out of the competition.

Mods

You are allowed to use any mods that do NOT affect placement of arrows.
Pad Disputes
In many unfortunate cases, there are times when the dance pad may be unresponsive and/or too sensitive for certain players due to weight, playing style or sensor wear. All players will be allowed to dispute for pad errors. The following must be taken into account:
*Player will not be able to dispute anything graded Great or higher.
*Player cannot dispute after next song has been played.
*Player can only dispute if the pad error could have resulted in a win for the song.
In the event that the dispute is accepted, players will switch sides and replay the song. The player with no pad error keeps his 1st original score and 2nd score will count if better than the 1st. The player with pad error only keeps his 2nd score.
During play:

* As courtesy, In The Game Cabinet (Sean/Binary, Ian/Eon, Jasmine/Jazz, and Charlene/Charlene) will not be competing in these tournaments.
