In the event an aircraft crashes onto the campus take the following actions:
- Immediately call 911. Inform the dispatcher of:
- The location of the crash
- The quickest route to the crash
- The type of aircraft, if known.
- If not known, describe it. Is the plane large or small?
- How many engines does it have?
- Instruct someone else to call Campus Safety & Security at 386-226-SAFE (7233) Daytona; 928-777-3739 Prescott.
- Check for movement or life in the plane, if safe.
- If flames are visible, inform the dispatcher.
- Until the authorities arrive, attempt to establish a perimeter.
- Try to keep people away from the plane, and if there is debris, try to leave it in its position.
- Follow the direction of emergency responders.
